Got to imagine Cuts is sitting at home in a large, old Victorian leather chair wearing his smoking jacket with a Cuban cigar and a wry smile on his face feeling just a shade vindicated.

Congrats Emi on your undeniable talent and thanks Neil for bringing it to the fore.

The gesture at the podium was funny, in an "I can't believe he just did that in front of the Qataris" way. I'd like them to move on from the Mbappe taunting now, though.

Probably didn't know what to do in reality.  Probably still absolutely buzzing after the penalties and got carried away.

Quite possibly. Mirror reporting he's out of the Liverpool game, probably not much of a surprise.

Probably for the best after the massive bender he’s still on by the look of it.

Lloris is a duplicitous as they come. Says he’s been trying to console Kane but that didn’t stop him  giving Kane the big fuck off when he missed the pen.

That picture looks odd though. Zoom-lens trickery I suspect.

The outrage over the Mbappe doll seems excessive to me. Surely it was just thrown up by onto the bus by one of the fans and he's grabbed it for a laugh, a fucking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle got thrown up on there aswell ffs. I doubt he was looking around Doha Airport for a 442 magazine, some craft scissors and a childs doll.
There is another video on Twitter where he humps  the Mbappe doll and then laughs while doing the 'shhh don't tell anyone' gesture to the crowd. Clearly, enjoying the win. The comments in French range from "Ah well, pissed as a fart" to "Harrumph! Aston Villa should rip up his contract so he finds himself without a club." Good luck with that one Monsieur !

They haven't forgiven us for going to St Etienne for a pre season friendly in 1977 and inflicting what was their first home defeat in 3 years.
Didn't the French Press dub that 'Le Pop Band' derby?
I think, and I stand to be corrected, that St Etienne only came to prominence in the 1990s.
Incorrect. St Etienne were big in the 1970's.

The football team, yes. I was on about the pop group though.

Reminds me of being 16 and copping off with a girl I shouldn't have on a field trip, and my girlfriend at the time finding out seemingly before we'd even got back.

And the real king of that album is Nothing Can Stop Us Now.

I'd forgotten about that song. Just listened. I will now have a spring in my step while I walk to the university to buy my Christmas gear.
