Long may my  searing insight age like a fine wine.

This might be my worst hot take since suggesting Paul Jewell might be worth a punt as manager.

Anyone else thinking "£17m for a 28 year old reserve with 15 appearances over six years, WTF?" or is it just me? This is more a comment on the madness of the market than the player who seems extremely solid in terms of ability and personality.

Mbappe must get serious power on his penalties as Emi got a decent hand to two of them.

This might be amongst the most important (non penalty) saves he will ever make in his career

Man Utd? If he goes anywhere it’ll be to a decent club, don’t worry about that.

Of course he’ll get linked to lots of clubs. He’s one of the top 5 keepers in the world, now it’s up to us to match his ambition. He clearly loves the club and knows we’ve been key in getting him to where he is, so I think he’d be keen to stay. We just need to kick on.

He’ll be linked with a load of clubs in the coming days.

The "ESL Big Six" all pretty much have top quality keepers, so can't see him being linked to one of those clubs.  Don't follow enough Spanish football to know what the keeper situation is at the two Madrid teams and Barcelona.

He's been one of the best buys we have made in the last couple of decades.

I do wonder how they could get it so right with the purchase of Emi, and so wrong with that of Olsen.

It's tough attracting a quality number 2 when the number 1 is so good that the number 2 is unlikely to get any game time at all

It'd be tough to attract one who'd be shitter than Olsen.

Commiserations to the noses who were trying so hard to be noticed through another club’s player.
