Even if he picks up a winners medal, I'm not sure his market value will increase by much.

He has had a decent world cup, but apart from one penalty shoot out, I can not remember him having to make any world class saves.

Without Messi, Argentina are no great shakes!! I am not sure there will be a mad rush for many Argentinian signatures.  :)

Last minute against Australia.

Like for like!

Would love McKennie at VP but not at that price.

An oldish interview, but for anyone over anxious.  Still don't think I'll be able to get a shirt from him though.

The free kick against Mexico was so easy he caught it with both hands and the Australian save was a block from a difficult angle. Hardly world class. I would expect any professional goalie to save those.

Anyways, I hope he stays at the Villa.

It’d take a world record fee for a keeper and he’d still have to agitate for the move to sell him.

He saved those two shoot out penalties and I’m always impressed when a goalie does that…god, the pressure!

I fear we’ll start to see a lot of noise about Emi. I also think win or lose on Sunday it’s going to be mentally tough for him to get up for the rest of the season, at least for a while.

He’s a professional and will just get on with it.

It does amaze me how quick on here people become convinced that anyone we have who shows improvement is automatically on the way out to a bigger pond. Just because it’s happened before doesn’t mean it definitely will happen again. But i suppose if there are teams out there who want to spend very big on a 30 year old player their current keeper must be sub standard. No top half team’s keeper springs to mind.

Nonsense. The Mexico free kick was destined for the top corner and he held it with both hands. It was an incredible save.

There's a very narrow sweet spot between players being too good and will want to leave and being shit and need to be replaced. Some players regularly bounce between the 2.

Beg to differ. Twas routine. But hey, only an opinion.

His agent will be on the phone to Villa next Monday, I hope we improve his contract to stave off any interest.

He signed a new five year deal in January.
