Him dancing to the Utd fans after rat face blazed his pen over will never not be funny.

We have a world class keeper, world class midfielder, building bit by bit.

The odd mistake. But they all make them. He saves us more points than he costs us. Great move to tie him down

This is a big statement.  Demonstrates that NSWE are prepared to invest and the player is sufficiently impressed with their vision that he is prepared to commit.

I was (IMO) always spoilt with Villa keepers from late 70s to late 90s with Rimmer-Spink-Bosnich never a position I ever worried much about. Thereafter I have been other than briefly when we signed the Brads (one who was past his best but still good and the other who never became near as good as he should have been)
I am now back to my youth and far less concerned about the most important position.

Way back in this thread i said he’d be the best keeper in my lifetime, on the condition he stayed long enough, basically anticipating a raid this summer.

Well…. The new contract is a HUGE step towards legend status.

The blokes spent 10 years sitting on a bench, for the first time in his career he's playing every week and within the space of 18 months he's one of the worlds best GK's. There's no release clause, he's going nowhere.

I agree with that, but I go back to Colin Withers.

Here's a taster of the Emi Martinez song (to the tune of The Lion Sleeps Tonight)...

Nice to see the bowl haircut making a comeback. Or is it a hat? Not sure.
