Why do Villa fans do it to ourselves? We have a great player so he must be off.

I think well Emi could be off in the summer.
Teams in Spain and Italy v interested
Clauses for European competition and that and Gerrard wants a keeper who is better playing with the ball.
I  think Gerrard fears  Martinez his lack of ability to kick the ball , distribution by feet and that Emi doesn't fit the playing style . On Martinez side we cant get him the Champions league football as quickly as he wants.
Don't be surprised if we get Dean Henderson
I suspect Emi will be leaving but not this window.
And Villa will double the money paid of £20m because looking at £50m which is good business

£50m is only good business if it gets us another goalkeeper with his presence and footwork who is as good. Unlikely.

Kepa cost Chelsea £71m. I wouldn’t take less that £100m for Emi based on that.

The money is always well spent in theory. I’d rather have the player.

Of course, the early mistake felt like a kick up the nuts.
As much as anything, I think it's because we're accustomed to his standard being so high.
These things can happen to the best of goalkeepers  . . . but  . . .

The Celebration. That moment will stay with me as long as the equaliser at the other end.

What a bloke!

I'm just glad he didn't get booked!
But also noted how he was kicking out of play again
Really needs to work on that distribution

Fantastic passion shown by him and amazing reactions for a save when he rushed off his line.
Fantastic.

Hi nigel I'll put some links up to the match and maybe from there could find something
It's a wonderful site to see
Not sure it's on match highlights though

I think Cavani putting his foot up but then letting it go through led to the slight confusion. He was excellent as usual for the rest of the match.

Emi Martinez has so much credit in the bank it’s unbelievable. He has saved on so many occasions. Still in my opinion the best keeper in the PL.

Watched it back this afternoon. At the end SG goes over to him and he says “Sorry gaffer. Sorry”. He gets a few words of reassurance which he obviously fully deserves. He’s well in credit with us despite that cock-up yesterday.
