Brilliant yesterday. Not a whole lot to do, but rock solid when he needed to be. Also, I thought he was back to getting his throws out much more quickly. He seemed releuctant to do that for the last few months under Smith.

Yep, the save just before half time was tremendous.

If we're going to stand a chance of finishing above last season's position we need the defence back in the habit of keeping clean sheets at all costs.

Gives the club a bit more exposure as well.  Top 10 in the world, not a bad place to be!

Should've been top three (says a man who only ever watches Villa). I'm guessing Donnarumma was no. 1?

Donnarumma, Mendy, Oblak, Ederson and someone else were the top 5. Mendy for winning the Champions League and everything, but Messi got the Big Gong for contributing somewhat to a Copa America win in which Emi won (was it?) two penalty shootouts. For me, he should've come second.

There is a really good interview with Emi on the official Villa website, talking about his journey so far.  Really good watch.  What a fantastic keeper.  Love that hamstring!!

It was a sign of game management, taking the sting out of a very difficult few minutes for us.  We've seemed to lack smarts and shithousery for years now and Emi is bringing it in spades.  I love that hamstring too!

Unbelievable save from him today, he had no right to get that. He really is one of the best in the world right now.

That's one of the best saves I have seen a Villa keeper make. Up there with Gyzan against QPR infront if the Holte.
