Well this’ll be a kick in the nuts:

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni on the statement from Aston Villa: "We gave the list for the three matches and there's no doubt about it. The players are here for the three matches."

So we're paying players big wages to be missing for large chunks of the Season without bringing in a no.2 Goalkeeper this is absolutely infuriating

The first half at Watford, I'd guess.

I shouldn't let it worry you, it won't effect your 3-4 games a season

It would probably be about a player contracting Covid.

How about we just buy players from league 2 or the conference and get relegated every season. Then you'll never have to worry about our players missing large chunks of the season for being top level internationals because they will be shit. And instead they can work part time packing fish down the market or delivering mail while turning out for the Villa.

Whereas I was (and still am) OK with the compromise I thought agreed between club and players, I'll admit I may think less of our players if they renege on that agreement.

I agree. Especially if Buendia is sitting on his arse for 2 games and then stays for the 3rd.

Perhaps the club should have checked with the Argentina FA first before making a statement? They look very silly now.

If they play that 3rd game then the club has really  made a fucking mess of this and never should have released them.

If we dint have them for 3 games then thats on smith and purslow for letting them go.

If Argentina go back against a agreement i doubt we will let them go again so that fool needs to tread carefully. We pay their wages not them.

I would hope that they did!
