Congratulations to Emi. Delighted for him. Bet he's dreamt of this all his life and probably at one point thought it'd never happen.

Vamos Emi 😎

I thought exactly the same, but later learned that he's been in a couple of squads before. Still to win a cap though.

Yeah I mean, he hasn't played. Sorry. Maybe he will play now.

It’s bonkers he’s not their starting keeper.

Argentina for the world cup. They have Messi and he's not their best player.

Furthermore he's been chosen as the number 1 goalkeeper in the Athletic's Team of the Season.
Richly desreved.

For all our brilliance tonight, a lesser 'keeper would've seen us drop a couple of points. No chance with the goal, couple of iffy kicks, but otherwise imperious.

Best in the world. FACT.

Him and the lad at Athletico, Oblak, he's a top keeper and all.

Along with Jack, Emi is now in the "irreplaceable" bracket, in that it doesn't matter how much money we might get for them, it's simply impossible to replace them with a player of similar ability from anywhere in world football.  I genuinely don't think there is a better goalkeeper on the planet right now.

Agree with the last few posts. I know he's only been here a year but he must be next on the list to be tied down on a new, improved contract.

Best shot stopper in the league.

I like Tom Heaton and gutted for him about his injury, but signing Emi was massive for us.  He's probably worth £70m now.  What on earth were Arsenal thinking letting this gem slip through their hands?

Yep, seeing as he's only 28, I'd say 10 years, with an option for another 5, should do it.

Great moment when he turned to the fans in the North Stand after his save.

Things like that have been sadly missing with no fans there.
