The way he came through a crowd of players to emerge with the ball and immediately launch it fifty yards straight to a Villa player was majestic. Can't think of another Villa goalkeeper who could have done that this century.

If we get an injury crisis he could even do a job centre-half, IMO.

He's alright but as brontebilly might point out doesn't score enough for me.

Hard to believe this guy was a backup keeper for so many years. He looks the best keeper in the division. Doesn't seem to have a single weakness and a playmaker at the back with both feet.
Can't be many keepers world wide in the form he's in at present. Some of his saves have been incredible.

We absolutely robbed Arsenal blind.  Complete and utter daylight robbery, they must feel sick as a dog seeing his displays week after week.

I must admit I didn't have much knowledge of him until we signed him but he has impressed the hell out of me so far. I know he cost us a few quid but he is worth his weight in gold. Why Arsenal let him go I don't understand. He was the best keeper on their books.

He’s so consistently good that after a match we rave on about individual performances, his name quite often gets missed when handing out credit. It’s like a having a player like McGrath in the team, you just know it’s a 10 out of 10 week in week out. His calmness and brilliance can go under the radar.

His anticipation of situations is top class.

Quite a few times, a through ball which has put us in potential danger gets mopped up because he’s already spotted it.

As mentioned, we’ve robbed Arsenal blind.

Interesting that two of the top six are ones we’ve signed in the last 5 years.

Pepe Reina is there at number 23. He didnt fill me with confidence when with us.

They should do, but their fans seem to think he's gone back to being average".

He's a magnificent keeper and should be the Argentina number 1 before too long, which will be quite the accolade, especially with Dougie being in the Brazilian XI as well.

Somebody very, very good if he's keeping Marrinez out!

Franco Armani who plays for River Plate apparently.

Never heard of either of them but we should get them signed up if Martinez is behind.

This is quite an interesting article. It's from last summer, but says it's been a problem position which surprised me. Martinez is so good I thought they must have some 6'10" thunderbastard with hands like dinner plates and the reflexes of a cat who is keeping him out.

Isn't it fantastic to be under pressure and the keeper comes out to claim the ball?  Great keeper.

Thanks, interesting that they seem to have tried so many different keepers and none of the ones I have heard of ever struck me as much cop.
