Does anyone think that Heaton's injury is such that he may not regain 100% full fitness and the club know this and are acting accordingly which is the responsible thing to do?
yes - there's got to be some doubts.

I think it's that getting from 90% fit (i.e. what every non-sportsperson would consider fully fit) to match-fit at the highest level is something that gets harder and harder after you hit about 34-35. Loads of players at that sort of age come back from an injury thinking they're going to be fine and then realise they don't have it in them any more.

Will he be the first Argentinian to sign for us since Gustavo Bartelt, and the first to play for us (inshallah) since Oscar Arce?

Gary Neville in that game against West Brom springs to mind.

I think its partly what Dave suggested and partly just wanting to build some continuity. e.g. Mings has been here a year and must have had 5 different keepers behind him already.

Getting somebody in who potentially could be our number one for six or seven years is more than just contingency planning. Its showing a bit of confidence that we want to push on and build a team over a period of time.

I hope Steer is allowed to go and play somewhere, hes a good keeper and should be a number 1.

Yeah, he'll presumably have been monitored after his injury, so they might have some idea about the probability of him getting back to full fitness, and have decided that it's not a risk worth taking.

Steer is OK but Heaton is better and Martinez better still. It will make a big difference.

I would imagine Heaton will be too good a pro to make an issue, but would go come the end of the season if he is a sub.

His missus has started following us (AVFC not H&V) on Instagram so looks like he's on his way.

It could dovetail nicely.

Steer goes on loan whilst Heston gets fit.  We sell Heston next summer for £Xm and Steer becomes the undisputed number 2.
Not sure what Steer gains from this other than a new contract and wealth beyond my wildest dreams.

This is my favourite bit of ITK when we sign a player. It always seems the only way that we know for sure ahead of an announcement. Strange world we live in; good job it won't last much longer.

I like Steer a lot but he’s had two serious injuries there must be question marks.

All I can add to that is that she's appears to be Brazilian (or Portuguese).

Mrs. Rashica (who would be as welcome in B6 as her husband) isn't following us yet.
