He was waving goodbye after the last home game of last season. The club may have just kept it quiet since then.

There was massive talk about the move to Manure in June and July. Manure then didn't sell Onana because he got injured and all went quiet. So yes he has wanted a move and it looked like it would happen, then it didn't, and no Manure have decided to screw us over right on the window closure.

But we are not victims. You can’t say Man U have screwed us over. We have our own agency.

Well I know you are out dancing in the streets with joy as you get what you have wanted for at least the last 6 months, but all the news about the late transfer happening on the day of a match which means said player is then dropped does screw us over. If we had played Friday, then this news broke on Sunday, it wouldn't.

Yes we could have played him, but then just had the fans on his back anyway.

I wasn't bothered when it looked like he was off at the end of the season, but I'm bothered that it's  happening now and if we haven't lined up a replacement we should have told him to fuck off in May.

Paqueta and Guehi weren’t dropped and had good games this weekend.

Conspiracy theory...If Martinez was being tapped up by ManYoo earlier this year, did he throw the game at the end of last season? Twat.
I don’t think he threw the game, but I do wonder if his head was right that day.

We probably did. But nobody valued him high enough to pay what we wanted.

This, if he wanted out we should have shown him the door back in May/June.

If he wants out, fuck him. Mings' quote suggests there's at least one who doesn't want to be here.

ManUtd? Fuck him and fuck them. Best ignored from now.

Neither were playing home games and neither had the news break hours before kick-off. But still he might be gone so get your jolly on.

“Its not helping us," said Emery in his post-match press conference. "It’s not helping us. It’s one of the circumstances that we are having now not helping. But tomorrow we will see it and how are closing the transfer window.

“We have a lot of circumstances that are not helping to be mentally like we were last year. But after tomorrow, we are going to set everything."

"He was not available. Tomorrow is the deadline and we will see. We need players focused and 100 per cent and he wasn’t."

Villa remain working to strengthen on the final day, with free agent Victor Lindelof set to join. The former Man United completed his medical and will finalise a move on an initial two-year deal.

Villa, however, are unsure whether Martinez will still be at the club by tomorrow's 7pm deadline.

"The reality is I don’t know (if we sell him)," Emery added. "We are working, we are busy until the last moment at 7pm with everything we have around us. But I am confident we are going to start again after the international break with a new energy and focus completely and no doubt.

So what is it you are trying to say?

We lost today because Martínez didn’t play.
Martínez has screwed us over.
Man U has screwed us over.
We have screwed ourselves.

It sounds like he's asked to leave at the death and we can do little to stop him which is why Emery is so frustrated.

What I am heartened by is the Manager wishing to draw a line after 7pm tomorrow and put a shit summer behind us. It's the only way to go after tonight.

The timeline doesn’t fit, with the tears at the end of last season, though. This isn’t a sudden out of the blue issue..
