I wonder how many points he has won for us this season. Either directly through saves but also via other means, ie calmness or good decisions at key times. After the keeper's we have going back to the decline of Guzan, I am so relieved he plays for us!

Agree with the last few posts. I know he's only been here a year but he must be next on the list to be tied down on a new, improved contract.

Yep, seeing as he's only 28, I'd say 10 years, with an option for another 5, should do it.

Agree, let's give him the full Pardew.

It never ceases to amaze me that Arsenal had him on their books for a full decade, and never came close to making him their number one.

Can you imagine letting a player go after never really giving them a chance, and then seeing them thrive this well?  Arsenal fans must be sick.  Fuck'em.

Normally sit in the lower holte, but was directly behind him in the upper north stand today you don't realize what a fantastic keeper he is until you see him from a few  yards away, also he also gave his gloves to a fan in exchange for a  Argantina flag after the game

Would still make more sense than the contract we gave Shay Given.

Disappointed for Emi and the defence that they didn't beat the AV post-'92 clean-sheet record. He nearly kept it out!

That's the target to aim for next year.

Easily 10 points I think. Stuff like that fantastic save he made point blank at Wolves when it was 0-0 with ten minutes left and we then won it last minute, brick wall in 0-0 at Brighton also made two fantastic saves late on at Southampton.

Deserved POTY. No mean feat when you think how good half the outfield team has been good starting. Jack would've probably won it if he'd played the whole season and likes of Konsa, Watkins and Targett all had fantastic individual seasons.

Surprisingly they've actually got one of the best defensive records in the league so it didn't impact on them that much as Leno had a decent season.

They just needed the money, will probably do the same with Joe Willock given they haven't made europe and can get 25m for him given how well he's done at Newcastle.

His ‘you shall not pass’ attitude is a joy to watch, and it’s clearly influenced the rest of the defence. I’m actually surprised when we concede these days, can’t think of a better compliment than that.

I voted for Martinez as my player of the season

I think he’s been outstanding in every area of his game

I voted for him. He adds more than his saves, catches etc. He gives the defence confidence, looks to be a good influence off the pitch and is an all round credit to the club.

I was thinking last night about how strange and atypical, at least from my recollection, Emi’s career seems to be. He had been at Arsenal an age with a number of unremarkable loan spells. Then suddenly he has a 6 month spell in Arsenal’s team due to injury and his career blows up. He’s been an incredible signing for us and has probably trebled his value already. It’s just really odd that such a talented goalkeeper just appeared to be drifting along, with little fanfare, and now is in the company of the best keepers around.
