If reports are to be believed they are trying to flog Onana for £50m.  So on that basis they need to cough up £75m for Emi.

For someone who has gone off form, he did win save of the season.
he should have also won bell-end moment of the season with that challenge at Old Trafford

For someone who has gone off form, he did win save of the season.

Great reflexes but his main weaknesses last season were parrying the ball back into a dangerous area (ie Monaco) and ill communication within the corridor of uncertainty with his henchmen in defence.

That doesn't really matter though, does it? I'm sure even Heskey probably scored a screamer at some point somewhere!

I don't know why some people seem so convinced he's off to Man Ure.

I’m not convinced I just think that’s where he’ll end up
If he doesn’t go to United I think he’ll stay with us

The difference is Heskey scoring a screamer is very memorable where Martinez making that kind of save is just a Saturday which is why most people have forgotten about it.

I think the fact we chucked the game away is why people forget about it

For someone who has gone off form, he did win save of the season.

And it wasn't even his best save of the Season.

I still think he'll end up at Old Trafford
I really hope not for obvious reasons

I think he will too, and he won't look much better than Onana does behind their defence.

He will fit right in with his time wasting and gamesmanship. Lets be honest his behaviour is really annoying, and if he had been at another club we would all think he was a giant arse.

I'm still pissed off about the sending off, so maybe that colours my judgement but I think we can replace him without much problem. He has been great for us, but has been off form for a season now and I can see why we would cash in.

I don’t think we will replace him easily
He’s the best I’ve seen and I’ve been going up there 50 years, so to think we’re just gonna bring someone in of the same standard is a stretch

Goalkeepers are the biggest myth in football
Everyone thinks you can just get away with someone that’s half decent when in fact they are the most important player on the pitch
Without Emi we wouldn’t have seen European football for the last three seasons on the trot

Yeah, I know he wasn’t as good last season so he was probably only worth five points to us whereas the seasons before 10 points
Round of applause for this post. Spot on.
Lets not re-write history on Emi, last season was probably his poorest for Villa and he was still largely brilliant. By miles the best Villa keeper Ive seen.
Yes he is also a massive wind up, but whilst he’s at Villa i love him for it, ffs he made French children cry in Lille.
If and when he goes different story if its Man U, not so bothered if its abroad.
He’ll be a massive hole to fill.

If he goes to Manchester United it’s because he’s not good enough to play for one of the really top Clubs.

I think he’ll end up staying but he clearly suspected Spurs was his last home game!

You know that’s complete bollocks though right? The keeper voted number 1 in the world, the current holder of back to back Yashin Trophy’s isn’t good enough to play for a top team. Your head has completely gone if you believe any of that. Some people are starting to believe he wants to move away despite not a single quote or action by him or even attributed to him to indicate that’s actually the case.

Good post John, to think if we sell him it will be easily rectified is naive to say the least. He’s not been at his best this year, but still been one of the best in the league.

Please have a look again at what I actually wrote. It even begins “If he goes to Manchester United …”
