No one would give Tammy 15-20 starts ahead of the joint 10th highest scorer we've ever had and whose scored 5 in our last 7.

Tammy is a better finisher, Ollie is a better player and much better for how we play.

Totally agree.

I am glad we have both but Ollie better all round player.

His first touch still pisses me off, though.

Yeah, I’m just having it that its can’t be improved through constant repetitive practice. But a bit late in the day now.

Cool so if he goes 20 games without a goal Tammy still doesn't start?

Probably depends on how well the team is doing.

I reckon four or five matches without a win or a significant Watkins contribution is the point at which you probably give the other a go.

He’s showing good form of late. Continue that for the remainder of the season and we’ll be fine. Actually, more than fine.

That omission from the England squad could be the best thing to happen to him, and us.

Yes, it appears to have lit the rockets.

I'm pretty sure I posted it on here when he scored after being dropped, but I suspect Tuchel tipped him the wink that he'd be in the WC squad when he told him he wasn't taking him for the recent friendlies. He's appeared much less burdened by whatever it is that often burdens him since then.

Quite possibly, whatever it is he does physically look like a weight has been lifted.

That happened last month. Three losses and a draw.

Two losses and a draw with Watkins starting. Feels a bit churlish to count the Newcastle defeat, which Abraham started, as evidence for why Watkins should be dropped.
