Yes, thanks for the example of the rotation I mentioned. Still not seeing the "but the minute he had Rashford Ollie went in the bin" though.

Ollie certainly thought so. He whinged bitterly on TV after it.

Yep that was the choice though, biggest game we've had in years and Rashford was the man. And rightfully so.

Watkins has got to go this summer, or he'll end up spoiling his time here.

Who buys him? Will be on a decent wedge with us so don't see him taking a big pay cut. Can't play in a two and dislikes competition.

His lack of ball control was always overlooked because of goals scored, his control has got worse and his goals have dried up. Don't understand why these days he seems to take an extra touch instead of shooting.

Someone will buy him. While 16 is a decent return on paper last season, he was essentially dropped twice for other forwards during the season, and publicly moaned about being so for the PSG game. The stats dont tally with the eye test last season and plenty of us on here said the same then.

If we want to challenge for the top 4-5 places in the table, a significantly more dangerous, faster, sharper version of Watkins is needed. He was a huge reason we were so good in 23-24, his runs, work rate and ability to hold it etc gave us the platform to play. His finishing was hit and miss but his attitude got him back in and more chances came. Since the euros that summer, when he was self admittedly carrying a knock, he has not been anywhere close to that player. Watch the Bournemouth home game towards the end of that season. Watkins was unplayable. That Watkins hasn't been seen since. Nearly 2 seasons. To get us back being a threat,, Unai either needs to find a genuine replacement that can do that, or play very different football.

I'm sorry, but I think that's just a little bit silly.

He's having a poor season, he's not looking good at all, and maybe this summer is time to part company, but with some of the forwards we've had over the years, I find the fixation with our record PL scorer absurd.

I understand the 'he's not good enough for where we want to be' argument, but thinking logically we aren't - and haven't been - where we want to be.

Tammy seems to be doing the exact same at the moment though. Is his confidence shot already?

Yup it’s almost like it’s not just a single player issue, even acknowledging Ollie has struggled this season.

Rogers blows hot and cold like many middle ranking premier league players, if he sustained the form he showed in the autumn season in season out he’d be worth £150m.
