I think we should start with him against Brighton. We look a better team with him up top even he does not score.

Have them both start. One pulling the defenders away wider for the other to exploit the space. Especially as we don't have attacking width so it allows Buendia and Rogers to support with different options ahead.

If you asked Smirker the square root of 16, he'd say -4.

He was ok , nothin more , wish he could control a ball thou.  I wonder if even January he might need a fresh start at Everton or West Ham.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't Everton.

He's going nowhere. He gave us pace, he worked damn hard and as always defended from the front really well. I think he finds it harder having no wide man to play off.

And that's enough for you?

19 apps
1 goal
0 assists (for those who like to bump his numbers up)

The above isn't enough for me and I think we're a big enough club and good enough team with decent enough ambition to be wanting more from our top striker.

That's all well and good, Smirker but if we were to sell Watkins to help finance a decent striker, how much do you think we'd get for him?

Our record with him as our Number One striker is rather impressive. I'll give him, and our manager, the benefit of the doubt.

No it isn't.

But then you didn't think 17 goals and 14 assists were good enough last season and even decided 27 goals and 15 assists was only "good" the season before.

Over 54 games, 17 goals isn't a good return for a striker no. Its average at best.

How much do I think we'd get for him now? Maybe £10m from a desperate relegation battler in January.

You know those stats are misleading, it's been pointed out repeatedly and yet you carry on with this becuase you're absolutely determined to redefine Watkins as a failure.

I'm going to include assists because they matter because of how we play and the role Watkins has in the team but also because we always have included them, just because you decided to ignore them doesn't mean the rest of us have to or that we're 'bumping his numbers up' (which is a really fucking sad argument to make).

24/25
54 games
17 goals
14 assists
3578 minutes played
115 minutes per g/a

23/24
53 games
27 goals
15 assists
4323 minutes played
103 minutes per g/a

so a slight drop off but not 'average at best'.

Again though I beg you to just take a break from this thread, because you're not only repeating the same bullshit every few days but you've completely derailed the entire thread for months at this point. You're never going to agree with msot of us and we're never going to agree with your rewriting of history, it's just unhealthy to keep up this level of obsession.
