Mike Tindall RIP
« on: August 11, 2020, 09:55:48 AM »
Mike Tindall, 79, played for Villa from 59 to 68 making 136 appearances, one of the Mercer Minors. Played several times for England youth team, but never fulfilled his potential, but nevertheless a popular player.

RIP

Apparently was being linked with England selection in 1964, then broke his leg at WHL. He was never the same player again.

Fine player.  Lacked a turn of speed that the coaching of later times would have given him.  Pleasure to watch him with Alan Deakin and John Sleeuwenhoek in Joe Mercer's team.

Amongst my earliest memories. Mercer's Minors. Tindall, Slogger, Deakin. Loved them all. Rest easy Mike.

Another former player with possible Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (see Astle and Cowans?).
