Re: No fans debate.

I think it’s totally dismissive to actually think that no fans has not influenced certain players, teams or matches.

However, it’s the same for everyone and the margins are so fine it ultimately will not win a league for anyone or relegate anyone.

Of course it's had an impact but it's minor and it's not, as someone on here was arguing early on in the season, a case of defences being less switched on, there's actually been slightly less goals per game so far than we saw last season.

What has changed is the home advantage seemingly no longer exists but it's incorrect to pin that entirely on the positive impact crowds have on players. There's the pressure on refs from crowds leading to less 'homer' refs. A lot of teams are currently playing a very counter-attack based game which is more effective against teams that are trying to be positive and, even without crowds, teams are still feeling obliged to push for wins at home.

There's probably much more on top of that as well.

The problem with the Liverpool thing is that it will all be blamed on the lack of fans. Which will only make them even more full of themselves.
I have heard the same from Wolves fans, it's why they are not so good this season.

Would explain why they were so shit in the 80's to be fair, given no fucker went to watch them.

Did I hear the MOTD commentator correctly when he said seven of the Fulham players in the starting eleven last night were loanees?

They have these guys in on loan Damo:

Lookman
Maja
Areola
Andersen
Loftus Cheek
Lemina
Aina

So almost the first 11

So those would be the seven loanees the MOTD commentator said had started the game for Fulham. I hadn't realised the rules allowed for that many loan players to play.

Only rules on loanees is how many from the PL allowed I believe.

I like their left back Robinson and the centre half Anderson .  Although they play so open

So the handball law is to be changed so in respect of the Fulham incident it means that the goal that was disallowed will now be allowed which is good..
But not till July 1st.

It's ridiculous that two players with their arm in the same position can be given as handball (if he's an attacker) and not given as handball (if he's a defender). The bureaucrats buggering about with the rules are making things worse not better.

Does fuck all for Fulham who were denied what might have been a hugely valuable point in their battle against relegation. Thankfully the last rule change on offside when we got screwed against Man City ultimately and thankfully won't have an impact on our PL status this season.

I did wonder where Maja's career went after watching the Sunderland documentary.
He looked a tidy player for a spell playing for them and hopefully he'll get a few opportunities at Fulham.

The fact that they’ve now changed 2 laws of the game after specific incidents and maybe a 3rd (I think handball might have been altered early in the season) just shows you what a complete and utter balls up this period has been. We went over 50 years with offside being level and the back pass law being bought in and not an issue.

Throw technology and a group of refs thinking they are the centre of attention and we’ve ended up with this shambles.

Hoping for a Huddersfield win. Not just because they're just above Blues, but also Cardiff are a dire side to watch.

That being said, Mick McCarthy is ace.
