We need to be energetic at the weekend, Southampton are out on their feet here because Arsenal have pressed and harried them up the pitch and they've had no answer to it.

Also, Southampton had to squeeze the cup game against Shrewsbury in before the two games with Arsenal.

Lovely interplay between Zaha and Benteke for a goal last night.

Palace would be bonkers to let Benteke leave. There's a class player in there occasionally.

Allerdyce referring to Man City’s ground as “Main Rd”,  how long have they been gone from there?

I did that yesterday.
I still say Highbury when talking about a game where Arsenal are involved at home.

Why would they be playing a home game at Fleetwood?

A few years back my son asked me which grounds I had been to and there were quite a few no longer around.

I can't see you guys being in any real danger of relegation, but Bruce is certainly on one of those runs of his (that we all remember) which make a fan question whether anybody could do any worse.
I dunno, we could survive, but that's a low bar to clear. And he's not exactly in shape.

I could do better, you could do better, it's only really John Carver who couldn't do better.

Paul Lambert would have a good try.

Yeah, that wasn't a defence of Bruce. He seems to be a specialist in not being quite shit enough to get the sack.

That's how managers earn their fortune. Spend a few years being not bad enough to get the sack, finally get the sack then say to the next club "Look at how well I did there". Once you've had a job in football management it's easier to find another one than to be unemployed.

True so, Dave. Given Lambert was just mentioned, I cannot believe he is still at Ipswich. I was so pleased when we appointed him as well.

I think most people were. But then, everything he'd done in football management up to that point suggested that we should be pleased.
