If our strikers are struggling to hit 192 square feet of goal, I'd not bet on them being able to hit what can't be more than one square foot of arm on purpose.

Watched MOTD and some of the defending is abysmal. Still, best league in the world and all that.

And yet more goals scored in Serie A opening weekend than the EPL opening round.

Palace upped it second half, they starved Rodriguez, and I didn't think them equalising would have been an injustice.

I also saw a fair bit of the Wycombe game earlier. I dunno what's worse to be subjected to, VAR or Championship refereeing.

on the whole i like VAR but the laws need to be changed and simplified as mentioned before

A big issue I have with VAR is that it's implemented and adjudicated by serving referees, so all those week to week inconsistencies of interpretation we'd all moaned about and hoped VAR would eradicate are now inflicted on us with potentially every decision.

listen all other sports have adapted like rugby union , rugby league , cricket , tennis etc but football fans seem to up in arms when we turn to technology

we got to move with the times !!!

But it's not using technology, it's the subjective opinion of someone watching on the telly. They could get one of us to do it!

A big difference between how it's used in other sports compared to football is that in those others, it's almost exclusively used to judge what's happening/happened with the ball. In football, they're attempting to judge the player.

Cricket and tennis have exact reasons for it. Is it a out? And with the speeds involved there is a need for it. Football could be used in a certain way but in football it is being used for many reasons.

Both Rugby Codes does look at multiple options but only IF the onfield ref asks for it. In football they are reffing everything that happens on the video and tell the ref to change their mind afterwards.

So the way VAR is used does take the main reffing off the field. The BBC mentioned today that there was an offside that was massively obvious but the lines person did not flag. And the reason they did not flag is they have been told not to because if it leads to a goal, VAR can then check the offside, and if it doesn't then oh well play can carry on. No other sport who uses Video replays gives it that much power over on field live play.

Maupay certainly handballed it but Iím sorry if the referee blows the final whistle then thatís it, itís game over surely. I mean, where does that end? Is there anything in the new interpretation that covers post final whistle checks?

If this is right why didnít our goal vs a Crystal Palace count last season? They main reason given at the time was the ref had blown for full time so they couldnít do anything about it.
