What was Traore doing at the end for Man City's 3rd?  Just stood there ball watching from about 6 feet away.

He was costing me money because I backed Citeh to win 2-1.

Such is the diminished status of the League Cup, I was amazed that no one had bothered mentioning the Bitters demise on penalties to Brentford.

It is a shame Albion are out. I like to see a small local club have a bit of a run in the cup. At least they won't have to suffer another cup defeat to Villa until January at the earliest.

Manure have sent out a strong side on paper but they are making hard work of seeing off Luton.

Bitters dumped out by Brentford on penalties. Them and the dog heads can create joint threads to follow us along with the rags.

Manure won 3-0. I backed them to win 4-0. To be honest they were lucky to score three, it was a rather laboured performance.

Anyone else finding themselves with a strong soft spot for Brentford, after all this? They seem such a well run club with good football and (in my experience) really likeable fans, and if they got their day in the sun with promotion to the PL I'd be delighted.

Yes. My local club, and I always want them to do well. Shame they left Griffin Park, which was a great old ground.

That was Sandwell Town's seventh home game on the bounce in the League Cup and they still manage to make a early exit .
