It's not VAR, it's the officials interpretation of the new rule. I'll guarantee how they are applying the rule was not the intention of the rule.

Last seasons goals were chalked off for innocuous handball in the build up. Now penalties are being given for innocuous handball. Neither of which were a problem with beforehand.

Clear and obvious..... That should be the yardstick

It should but "clear and obvious" in itself is subjective and it's just that, that cripples VAR in any form. It still relies on opinion, not fact, and as such it's aim to get everything right is fatally flawed.

The argument will still be raging in 10 years time but the game has been damaged by the need for precision robbing it of immediacy, drama, rhythm and most disappointingly of all that glorious moment of going fuckin' mad when you score

VAR reminds of me of Brexit.
Here's your VAR.
No, not like that!

Except that professional footballers seem better able to accept the outcome of a VAR decision even when it goes against them.

I'm quite bored of seeing all the penalties being given this season already.

You do realise that Kane was sent off today for complaining about the decision, right?

I must say, I'm impressed by how Leicester have established themselves as a top club. Perhaps not in terms of profile, but I fully expected them to slowly sink back to the bottom half PL / top half Championship after their title win, but they have kept themselves top half PL through great recruitment.
