I fail to see how one second of people kneeling down can cause any hardship to anyone. Black people are still suffering discrimination on a daily basis, keeping these issues in the public eye, via the medium of a platform of football matches watched by tens of millions worldwide, seems a good idea to me. Plus, the sort of people that get pissed off by this are, generally, the worst people in the world. So I'm all for it carrying on.

The message has quite rightly been repeatedly hammered home loud and proud and has been respected and successful in it's high profile. But the taking the knee and slogans has to end some time and the new season seems an ideal time.

This essentially is the nail on head - more eloquently put I admit.

I acknowledge that my previous post was in the wrong thread but my whole view on this matter is that the act itself (bending the knee) is politically driven and belongs on game of thrones- not a football pitch.

All lives matter surely - but even that doesnít need to be paraded at a football match - racism is a societal issue that is not going to go away with any slogan, bending of the knee or what ever else.

It was a sincere  gesture at the time but I donít want to see
Politics involved on the pitch of my team.

Aston Villa fans may not be perfect but let me tell you Iím proud of our multicultural city, fans that attend VP and general attitude towards other races compared to other clubs in the UK let alone Europe.

So let's carry on doing it then.

I agree with politics not being involved in football, but this isn't about politics, it's far, far more important than that.

Surely itís up to the players as a collective to decide if they want to continue to show their support for BLM. If they do then it is not the business of posters on a forum to tell them that they should stop.
