2-0 up with 15 minutes to go all singing, 'there's only one Ian Taylor.'  82 minutes 2-3 with them all singing 'there's only one Ian Taylor.'

God I hated that game. Baffled why we gave them the whole of the lower Witton that night instead of the usual Upper North for FA cup games as we do now. Was just an open invitation for them to do their pitch invasion after the thirs goal (which the press just ignored). Think that really started our near 20 year inferiority complex against them at VP.

Think we also drew them 4 times in the 3rd round of the FA cup in just 6 seasons. Leicester probably had shorter odds when they won the league.

This is the watershed - a hammering we will not recover from, another tight defeat will maybe keep some confidence.  I fear the former.

I fear we're going to be knackered for the Palace game. 3 points off the Plastics would be a price worth paying. 2-0 Villa. McGinn and Samattagol.

Could we forfeit, accept the standard 0-3 defeat as penalty and be all rested and ready to beat Palace on Sunday ?

Giving them effectively home advantage that day by having supporters around 50% of our pitch perimeter has got to be one of the lowest points in supporting our great club, something I’ve always wanted to ask Steve Stride as he always seemed to have his finger on the pulse , just what were you thinking?

I think today's game between Watford and Norwich will have a lot to do with how Villa play, how the player respond, said before the Liverpool game, we need to start getting points, 1-1

Such is the hoodoo they have over us in this fixture, they could pick 11 random fans to start, and still somehow end up winning.

Lawro on the Beeb website is also going for an easy ManU win, but he actually makes some good points: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53308609

Quote
Liverpool could do that because, since football restarted amid the coronavirus pandemic, teams are allowed to use five subs now, instead of three.

I don't think there was any need to make a change to the laws of the game there whatsoever, and what it does is give all the top teams with more depth in their squad an extra chance to make that quality count.

It is a factor in why the bottom four have picked up so few points since the restart, and it is another problem for Villa in this game too.

We’ll lose and probably fail to score.

One thing is guaranteed. Grealish will have his best game for a while in for the season.

I've heard that as part of the Grealish deal they've agreed to draw the game and let KD score.
