First signing of the season for our newly-promoted heroines, Scotland international and will annoy Blose. Good news all round.

Looks like we landed Sil Swinkels. I don’t know who he is either but highly rated kid from the Vitesse academy and Dutch U16 apparently.

We are signing Ben Chrisene youngster from Exeter.  Matt Taylor their manager is saying he will go to the very top.  He made his debut in the Carsbao Cup last year when still 15.

I'm really interested to see how good the kids will be over the next few years because you get the sense that we're starting to get a really good structure in place.

Now signed.  Like the look of this lad.

Speaking about the fee itself though, president and director of football and external affairs, Julian Tagg praised Aston Villa for their professional approach and fairness during the transfer dealing.

“Whilst the fee is undisclosed, when a possible arbitration fee is considered we are pleased with the valuation,” he said. “Aston Villa have been very professional and fair in their dealings with Exeter City and we as a club would like to acknowledge that.

Looks like we have been linked over the last few weeks by a few sources with Ruben Shakpoke, a striker from Norwich. The academy links seem to have more plausibility somehow, despite the apparently obscure sources. Perhaps the deals are just less complicated at this level? Anyway, there is definitely more ambition being shown by the club now that Harrison is onboard.

Could be useful. Looks like Tammy Abraham in build/height, good feet and has pace.

You could also argue that we are now just signing unproven players with potential at a young age at the expense of nurturing and developing the current crop by giving the better ones more opportunities. Hope the League Cup this coming season gives them some room for greater exposure.

This sort of long term thinking is alien at most other clubs and is very welcome indeed.
