I think our midfield is too open like that.

Oh good, both of our shite wingers together. I was hoping for neither.

I'd like to see El Ghazi playing off a(nother) striker.

Still persisting with the 433. Waste of a couple of players having El Ghazi and Trezeguet starting.

Looks more like 4-5-1 to me.
Could be anything.
My guess it’s 4 3 3

Expecting the worst  hoping for something that isn't an, embarrassment.

It would be nice if we could manage to play with a bit of passion and pace, instead of wandering around in a "couldn't give a shit manner".

One up front, same formation.
He's just changed a few of them around and replaced some of the deck chairs with like for like.

If we don't get something tonight, then imo that's it.

What motivational wonder spell will DS have employed?

I think that is 44 11 in attack

451 without the ball.
Either way we have to get players running past Samatta

Davis and Samatta should be up front imo. AEG and Trez have got a lot to prove today.

Still no Guilbert then.

Nearing fitness, I imagine he'll be back in the next couple of games.

Agree. Just isn't being bold or aggressive enough. We have been thoroughly outplayed too often with these players and shuffling them about won't change that fact. Nakamba should have started for me with DL, with Jack in the middle and 4 forward minded attackers. As it is, looks like we will be on the back foot again most of the time with the "hope" being a break away goal. Predictable

Difficult to see what Trézeguet will offer. I don't think he's really had a good game yet - some good moments to be fair - but that's about it.

This is a vey important point. It's something the best teams do and it's not rocket science. Watching Man City the other night it struck me just how effective they are at it. They overwhelm the defence. Peps Barca team used to do it to great effect. Isolating a lone striker, as we have done in our 2 games back, then expecting him to hold the ball up long enough for the troops to arrive isn't good enough. This and our suicidal at times back line is just killing our season. I'm going to watch the game with hope in my heart that we might address these problems and come away with something in the bag...but it's the hope that kills ya.

Ditto El Ghazi.*

*That should do the trick.

If Jack gets into the game we have a chance.  If not, it's going to be very tough.

El Ghazi is better to my mind, offers more threat than Trez - but wildly erratic at this level, for sure.
