Ward-Prowse should be booked already, he's had about 5-6 kicks at Jack already.

The owners have put the best part of 300m in.

Only at villa can you spend that much money and wind up with a pile of shit this rancid.

Massive off the pace. We simply can't cope with teams who pace and press in central midfield which is majority in the premier league.

Indeed.

Still, the way things are going - we won't have to deal with any of this Premier League nonsense soon.

Smith is a fish out of water I'm sorry to say.

I think this has been obvious for some time now.

There are still plenty who disagree.

Smith isn't up to it. And he has too many foot in mouth moments. Last season it was the bizarre December comments about teams fearing us- we then went on that dreadful 12-13 game run.

I thought Purslow would have prioritised survival over all else. The stakes are so high, go down and we are back to square one-having to sell players that have an affinity to the club.

The whole thing is a shambles- sticking with an inexperienced manager because of sentiment. F**k that.

I really do wish that Smith had been fucked off weeks ago.

I've been saying it for months but it's not going to happen.  The pant piss brigade I think they call us.  Crap start, where is the desire and motivation?

I honestly want to keep him on for next season. I think we'll be better prepared for the promotion push than the first time we went down, and I think lessons have been learned. It will be painful seeing Jack pay for another team, and I hope if he does go, it's to Dortmund or somewhere like that that does right by their young talents, but there is no guarantee he wouldn't leave even if we stay up.

Smith has to go but to be fair, the players have to take blame too - if Mings, Grealish, etc are so good, then we shouldn’t be in the position we are in. We massively lack leadership on the park - as well as on the bench

Kortney Hause is looking every bit a £3m player playing in a league where average players cost £10m

Should've been 2-0 there. It has been an even worse start than Bournemouth which says it all.

If you don't turn up for six pointers you get relegated.

For a team to have players as good as Mings and Jack and still be this useless is quite an achievement.
