Since I'm on the Isle of Wight for a few days, I'll be going down the pub to watch Sunday's game, and I'll be proudly wearing my Villa shirt.

My reasoning being that by the time their fifth goal goes in, everyone will be feeling so sorry for the poor bugger in the claret and blue top, that they all start buying me drinks.

If we perform like we did against Southampton, I may have to have my stomach pumped.
Which pub are you going to?

2-1 villa man city (they have a player sent off)

Reina
Elmo   Konsa Mings Hause Target
Hourihane Nakamba Grealish
Samatta Davis

That's the 11 I would play
Konsa can step in to midfield and Grealish can drop back.

If Davis isn't fit then I think Trezeguet be given the chance after the winner in semi and the problems he caused v Man city when he came on at villa park.
Although maybe Trez will start anyway as can see him being match winner for villa.
I think Davis is the wild card option (or Baston) two strikers to occupy their defence.

Hourihane gets his place for his past efforts , ability to score and having experience on big occasion.
Elmo due to same and has ability to deliver the ball.

Gilbert , Luiz El Ghazi lose out from Southampton

The way I see it when you look back to the Ď84 team is we havenít got a bosnich, Richardson, McGrath, Teale, Townsend, Saunders, dalian, or Yorke . Absolute class side

It was '94 and Yorke wasn't in the squad.

Dunno why, but after fearing the worst, I've knocked off from work for the week and have a gut feeling we're going to do them 3-1. Samagoal and Jack with the goods.

Nothing to lose boys - Get at em! UTV

My fifth child was due today. I'm guessing it'll be born on Sunday (obviously 29 Feb is the choice date) and we'll lose 5-0.

I'm sick of all the defeatist talk. We know we're up against it but hey it wouldn't be the first time we've upset the odds. Lets just remember who we are. We are following in the footsteps of our forefathers. Let's go there and raise the roof for the boys in claret & blue.Just like we always have. Just like we always will. We are ASTON VILLA. Fuck 'em.

Welcome back! I reckon you might have called the Hourihane and Elmo picks right if Deano sticks with what he said after the match. A touch harsh on Guilbert overall this season but he did (as he said himself) have a stinker last time out. Trezeguet rather than Davis I think as I can't see him being fit.

I've just left my local, all the Villa fans were alive with talk of the weekends plans while everyone else sneered and spat with bitterness.
I know who'd I'd rather be tonight.

I'm that sick of hearing self-styled 'pundits' saying we've got no chance - that I'm starting to believe the football gods might well put a claret & blue spanner in the works. So I'm going for a Wigan-esque 1-0 and a massive two fingers to the haters & the plastics.

Avit!

We did Leicester who made us look like idiots in the PL game at home. I donít see why we cant do the same to Man City.
