3 bad cup final performances for me: Everton, Arsenal & Chelsea.

Other than that, the only other Wembley performances that have been poor are the Fulham play off final (not cup final) and the Chelsea semi-final.

We weren't great against Norwich or Spurs but certainly not poor.

We've lost our last 3 cup finals there but on each occasion, we played a far better side.  Statistics show that in cup finals, the better team on paper usually wins.  It is quite rare for upsets to occur.

It would be nice to see some sort of appropriate tribute to Ron Saunders at Wembley, given that he took both teams to league Cup Finals.

In the 2000 FA Cup final we were crap but so were Chelsea there really wasn't much in it which made it so disappointing to lose.
If only we had showed up that day, it was there for the taking.
In 2015 we were terrible, it was the beginning of the end, with relegation the following season.
Absolute catastrophe for me personally as it cost me a small fortune to get to see it, as I managed to get a week off work and travelled from Australia.
Against  Man City I think we all are not expecting to win but I just hope we can frustrate them and give them a decent game, then you never know.
same. Cost me a small fortune in airfare and getting on the piss for a week in London. My mate, bless him, wouldn’t take my money for the club Wembley ticket that his old man managed to get for us.

Had a class day out in the black lion, kilburn. We lost. I flew back next weekend, travel visa from Aus ran out, so had to pay for that when I got back and a speeding ticket that arrived in the post whilst away, then got made redundant on the Wednesday the next week back at work. Triffic.

Chelsea was honestly 100% shitter than that.

I don’t forget it at all Ade, loved the week and your generous hospitality was very much appreciated. Think you weren’t working at the time too?

The downer of losing to arsenal never came close to the Chelsea loss though eh? Most pissed off ive ever been with Villa that day. Shit day out too. At least 2015 was a top day other than the game.

The Bolton semi at Wembley was a dire performance, but we squeaked through.

Thanks to Holdsworth missing an absolute sitter of an open goal.

By my reckoning since 1990 we have played at Wembley 10 times, winning 5, losing 5. Goals scored only 11, goals conceded 14.

I went to 9 of these and the only ones we played well in were 94 96 15 v 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' and last year.

They were great but the Norwich performance was below par.  We had the better of the play but it took until the 79th minute to make the breakthrough.  We were on that fantastic run at the time and that performance (together with the Bolton one a few days later) were two of the lesser ones. As I said, we weren’t poor but by the same token weren’t great.

Ads - Yes agree re the Bolton semi. So poor I’d forgotten about it.
