Am I right in thinking that Rodgers has waited 32 games to lose a domestic cup tie just so he has the symmetry of starting and ending the run with us.

The first professional club in the world to play in a major domestic cup final in fourteen different decades.

Good stats!

We're not actually in the 20s yet thought are we. This is the final year of the 2010s.

How is 2020 not in the 20s?! I wasn’t a teenager when I was 20!

Because a decade is completed at the end of the tenth year in it, not at the start of it.  It's like when we all celebrated the new millennium a year too early.

It's a pedantic argument that you're on the wrong side of.  1930 was in the 1920s?  The name is a bit of a clue.

Can I just point out...

3 Wembley trips in 3 years!
Living in Leicester,as Jack said,i'm over the moon.
The Leicester lad's where i work will be crying in their tea, lovely, and myself and a fellow Villa fan from Leicestershire will be whooping it up,their wankfest is over, well done Villa boy's.

I'm also exiled in Leicester. A few debts will be called in tomorrow :)

My kids are all at school in Leicester, going to wear my Villa hat and scarf when I drop them off tomorrow morning!

It's a pointless statistic really as about 25 of them must've been ties v highland teams when he was Celtic manager! Hilarious he keeps on losing to us though. Hopefully we get a side managed by him in the FA cup final next season.

A word of caution, we need to build on this for a league form to stay up, rather than it be a distraction.

Just seen the winning goal because I had no recollection of it at the game.

The cross from Elmo is just incredible. Probably one of the best you’ll ever see.

Nope, although it seems logical to call that decade the 1920s it's actually a misnomer. Yes it is pedantic but I'm not on the wrong side of it.  In the Gregorian calendar a decade starts with a year ending in 1 and ends with a year ending in a 0, so the "1920s" excludes 1920 and includes 1930.  Something to do with the year before 1AD not being year 0 but 1BC, according to that google thing.  Anyway we're in the final so fuck it.

What I love about the last two games is we battled and stuck at it and nicked results. They are the kind of games that teach young players not to let their heads drop and that could be massive for the next couple of months.

So what decade was the year 0 in then?!

Edit - read it properly. There was no year 0. That’s the real story here tonight!
