Great news that Konsa isn’t banned as well.

Well done, lads. We didn't let them settle into a rhythm for first hour, and then dug in to defend.

We love to see it.

Despite giving him shit for the City game, I must give huge credit to Elmohamady for a sterling cross. Made it easy for Trez. Well done Ahmed.

Some really good performances tonight.  I thought Nakamba had a very solid game, Douglas gave it away a few times but was pretty decent overall.  Konsa and Hause were solid.  Targett ball watched for their goal but was good overall.  Nyland was ace.  A good team performance and fantastic scenes at the end of the game.  Well done Dean Smith for turning a huge corner.  Now, calm them down for the biggest game of the season on Saturday.

What a sight that is.  Magnificent.
The image of Trezeguet being held aloft by the fans is going to stay with me for some time, too.

Haven’t been on the match thread but I thought that was a terrible sub by Smith. The CH on Jack’s side had been booked, was ripe for a second yellow, and Smith put Trezeguet over there and Grealish on the other side. Turned out alright though so I’ll let him off.

Was wondering the same for last 10 mins. Particularly after Trez feeble effort with his left earlier. Rode our luck early on with Nyland making some brilliant saves. But we always looked a threat going forward. Thought we dominated second half until they scored the equaliser. Jack a colussus. Smith deserves a lot of credit, tactically he owned Rodgers tonight. Overloaded our left side and all three subs contributed. Great night, hopefully acts as a real confidence boost for Saturday!

Nyland 9 - top quality saves early on, the one from Tielemans particularly
Guilbert 7 - very solid as per usual but let Barnes get away from him too easily for their equaliser
Konsa 7 - solid game throughout, concentration levels not a problem tonight, missed a good chance
Mings 7 - daft mistake early on but settled
Hause 5 - bombscare in possession and positionally all over the place at times
Targett 8 - outstanding in first half including a final goal, a player I've been very critical of in the past
Nakamba 7 - slow start as we struggled to get to grips with their midfield but once he settled he did fine
Luiz 6 - far too indisciplined for my liking, runners off the back of him all night. Happier further up the pitch but we need a lot more from him
AEG 6 - lively enough in the first half with decent deliveries but drifted out of the game
Samatta 4 - big ask to come straight in but needs must. Decent athlete anyway but was off the pace of the game. Missed a sitter which I'm hoping he can put behind me quickly
Grealish 9.5 - different class, brilliant assist. Some of his play was outrageous, best player on pitch by miles.
Davis 7 - this lad is a player, no doubt about it. Doesn't matter the level, the ball sticks to him and he knocks defenders out of the way. Would start him Saturday
Trez 7 - brilliant winner, not much else besides but who cares
Elmo 7 - calm from the moment he came on and a superb assist. A great pro for us.

Great effort by every player, starting XI and the 3 subs.

Nyland deservedly MOTM. Grealish and Targett were great down the left, Nakamba back to the player he was a couple of months ago, terrific performance and as soon as I saw Elmo in that position I knew it would be a great ball and a chance, Trez doing what he’s getting a knack for with a nice finish running onto the ball. Brilliant effort all round.
