Welcome aboard Samatta. A lot of people are moaning and saying his pedigree isn't great and his YouTube doesn't look brilliant... He looks like a terrier to me, someone who will chase defenders down and give them a physical battle, precisely what we've lacked.

If the ball goes forward and he's pressing defenders, it may allow Jack more space and get us up the pitch. Over the course of 90 minutes that'll make a huge difference.

Micah Richards was on 5 Live before Sheffield United away. He was talking about that sliding doors game and how Vardy never stops. He is constantly on your shoulder running you here, there and everywhere and how mentally, as much as physically, that makes him hard to cope with. We had obviously had a lesson in the pointy faced git a week or two before.

That's what we're crying out for. Pace and persistent application to run in behind and turn that defence. He needs to be able to score as well, but that style of striker is what we've needed all season.

Excellent signing of Scaramanga the 3rd nipple of our front 3 going big up top.
Top scorer last season in league a proven scorer. Will get goals.
Of course the main issue is the settling in period.
Once he is then no doubt he'll be our Mane in a front 3.
Trezeguet is equivalent of Salah.
So we are getting creative with the attack .
As Deano said risks to be taken. I don't doubt
that he won't score goals - just he'll also be missing chances - and his adaptation is the concern .
Like Abraham he'll miss a few golden ones but this man has the natural quality to get a goal or two.
Pleasing.
I would say  he'll be like Mane for villa. And within 12 months Jan 21 people will be talking like he's that too

Contextually people !
Like it's well documented like how Smith wants a front 3 dynamic of Liverpool.
And wants players to replicate that playing style
Grealish once said in an interview Smith wanted him playing like Liverpool attacker.

When the manager puts me there (on the left-wing) he said to me he wants me to play likeIm not on their level, like the Liverpool front three, said Grealish on Sky Sports Monday Night
(22:07, Monday, November 25th).

I get Salah and Mane.  They are football players, right, but where do nipples come into the metaphor?  Perhaps it is a reference to Staevie.  Tits on a Bull.

Please stay fit and score a few early goals.

Not sure where to post this, but as we've signed an African ill try here. One for the older heads, but I read on twitter today that in the late 60s under Tommy Doc, we signed two Zambians who only played a few times between them. I'd never heard of this before, any one have any recollections ?

Freddie Mwila and Emment Kapengwe.

Is that Lew Chatterley in the background?

Yes good spot

My first ever Villa kit - and we were relegated. My grandad bought it for me as a Christmas present from Harry Parkes when I was 7. About the only place that sold them back then.
Mine too  loved that kit and cos it was my first its also my favourite. Vaguely remember the two players in a friendly  1970 I think ???

Samatta used to play for a team called Simba.

Does that mean he will be our 'Lion King'?

You have to allow me that one because I arrived too late for the Joe Dolce punfest.

He's Egyptian, what more do you want?

Like how Wesley is our version of Pele.

Ah, so that makes El Ghazi our Cruyff. With you now. Sorry everyone!

You'd think that we'd try Gareth Bale further up the pitch. He's wasted at left back.

Can't believe we are wasting Raul in goal, either.
