It seems forever since we had a League Cup match at home, which is something to do with the fact that it was almost as long since we won one anywhere until this season. Now we’ve been blessed with an impending visit from the footballing Gods and we should be grateful. Wolves are on a mission to dominate world football until the end of time and they probably won’t bother sending much of a team for this one, although there’s bound to be at least ten thousand of them dotted around the ground. There always is.

No matter what team they put out we’ll be good enough to beat them, and beat them we will.

Things newfooty fans don’t know – As much about Wolves until three years ago as their supporters do, even if none of them have missed a match since 1975.
