1992/93

Considering we were top for ages, 98/99.

2001-02 season we were above them until December in the league I think. Last few months of Gregory when we had a really good start but it all fizzled out.

Massive win, I thought Brighton waltzed through our midfield too easy. Yes the sending off made a huge difference and for once we capitalized  against the 10 men.

Unlucky for the bloke sat next to me, missed the Grealish goal having a piss, then walked out on 90 minutes muttering only a point at home..

A few teams this season are making us attack Holte first half, seen it with a few other clubs but it always seems to impact on home team when they're not attacking towards their main home end in second half of games, Liverpool should only have drawn with Leicester the other week and they were shooting at Kop in the first half.

Mooy, red card aside, is a very good player. We couldn't get near him first 30 mins. Our full backs were both defensively very poor in the first half. I really fear for our midfield in next 2 games if we retain that shape. So easy to play through. The likes of Wesley, El Ghazi and Hourihane are complete passengers without the ball, workrate nowhere near good enough.

Was very impressed with Brighton, played good football even with 10 men.

Everyone was a bit down after the Burnley game.  However wouldn’t we have taken 7 points from these key games. Frankly this season at least I don’t care how the wins come.

We probably should have won the last four.

Did Brighton get to restart after the winner or did the whistle blow immediately? Like, was there any time for squeaky bums?

It is The Villa. There is always time for squeaky bums.  ;)

Brighton were decent, but it should have finished 3-0, even with us not quite at it.

And they’re another mob happy to be shithousers, which bit them on the arse.

And their fans can fuck off, giving stick to Mings for no apparent reason than he got called up over their player.

Had no beef with Brighton, now I’ll be happy when they’ve fucked back to where they’ve spent most of their existence.

Did Mooy lash out at Jack when he was on the floor after the foul for the second yellow? He seemed to.

That decision to give a free kick and book Hourihane for his perfectly timed tackle, scandalous.

And then had a perfectly fair goal disallowed.

Thought Brighton were very well drilled and really organised.

Thought that our full backs didn’t get high enough up the pitch and Wesley didn’t work anywhere near hard enough
