Again, what does 'under the radar' mean, in any meaningful way, for a football club currently playing in the Premier League and the Champions League?

It means 'unnoticed'.

95% of the praise is for Unai Emery. As if he is doing a magnificent job with a bunch of misfits!!!

The quality, strength and conviction of the squad is not getting the recognition it deserves.

Right, sure, but it's still unclear to me why it matters? The other teams we're playing against don't get their analysis from MOTD, so where's the practical benefit?

I don't think there is any but it has been nice in the last few weeks hearing commentators and pundits finally catch on to how fucking good Rogers is after not seeming to notice for a while.

I've just been on a call with a guy in Poland and he said this weekend was the first time he'd watched us this season and, on the back of it, he can't understand why there isn't a lot more 'noise' around our players because, to him, we look like a title challenger.

it's been nicer to not hear "it's only a matter of time before a top, top club comes in for him" when was the last time Sherwood got a stint at MOTD?

Maybe we should have a camouflaged kit.

I couldn't see us doing that.

I downloaded some podcasts today reviewing the weekends games. Despite being securely positioned in the top 4, unbeaten in all but one game this season, we might have got the least analysis of our win than any other team. ESPN FC actually literally had nothing to say. They went around their panel and asked and they stayed silent and just moved on. The obvious sides were all spoken about. On the whole it’s not that the media generally doesn’t say good things. Most of them do. They just don’t have anything meaningful to say. Or anything that suggests they have done any kind of research into us. It’s all very surface level, basic and cliched and then they move on, back to Man U or Chelsea usually.

I mean, I could quote myself but I won't. The attention we're given isn't dependent on our form, but on our popularity. We're not very popular in comparison to Chelsea and Man Utd.

If there's meant to be a joke in there I've missed it.

It's keeping the pressure off the boys as we quietly go unnoticed in our quest for a Premier League and Champions League double. So keep it under your hat please.

I think you’ll just have to keep saying it. Even the hipster podcasts, who pretend to have superior knowledge (“Have you read my book ‘How the Christmas Tree formation started in Bolivia in 1976’?”) don’t try to say anything interesting.

People just don’t tend to choose our games to watch at the moment, if it’s not on Sky or TNT they’re watching highlights and that’s it.

As you say, there’s no conspiracy, we’re just not interesting enough to enough people at the moment. I genuinely couldn’t give a fuck either way.

The analysis on MOTD is generally shite anyway so other than being first and having the longest highlights it doesn't really matter much to me where we are - Southampton V Leicester should have been first this week anyways.

The Athletic writer for us is decent and Guardian podcast has been pretty decent to us recently IMO.

We're constantly ignored by the media, our English players are never chosen for their national team and we are permanently under the radar. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, apart from seventy-seven of them.

I suspect a couple more will be joining them before the end of next year.

We used to hold the record for players making their England debuts while at the club up until not that long ago. Not sure if that still stands.

Down to second, now. Still not too bad considering we were absolutely shite for nearly a decade.

We might have the record for England debuts, I don’t know. But we’re second in the number of England international players, we had that record for years.

Interesting that whilst we are second for number of players provided, we are only 8th in terms of total appearances, meaning our average appearances per player is just 6, whereas Spurs average is over 13. We seem to have a lot of players picked just a couple of times it seems.
