The Bears sign Glenn Maxwell for the Blast.

I imagine that means that the Brathwaite experiment is over. An expensive flop.

Was he? He led them to the top of the North Group and we just didn't turn up in the quarter finals. He led an attitude change where they wanted to score 200+ rather than scrapping to 150s and it worked a lot. His individual numbers may not look brilliant but I'd say he had a big impact on the rest of the squad

I agree, his bowling was useful as well.

One for you Pears, i truthfully haven't heard of him. I hope he does well.
Good to see young English spinners breaking through.

He’s a good prospect PGW, he has played quite a bit of first team cricket but had a stress fracture late summer…also looks a handy bat, hopefully contribute a few of the runs lost with Barnard moving your way.

Yes hardly a surprise but will be good to see him back in a Bears shirt after a somewhat lengthy hiatus down the road.

You could do with Mo retiring from internationals as you can probably afford to pay him if he drops off the England radar….suspect that has been a problem for us for a few years that if Mo was without a central contract.

If you get him on the pitch for most blast games you’ll surely get to the knock out stages

County Championship starts tomorrow, with the Bears down at Taunton.  Stayed up by the skin of our teeth last year and most of our batters are going to have to improve massively to avoid a repeat.  Woakesy should appear more though and Chris Rushworth will take some of the burden off OHD.  We should do well in the one day stuff.

No play at Taunton today.  Wet outfield.
