Good cricketer, Roger, though not in the Lara class. Who was?

Always thought he'd make a good Sledging Coach...

So over the Easter bank holiday weekend - not only is it a farce that Villa have no game because some utter bunch of brain donors scheduled FA Cup semi finals over the weekend BUT neither Warwickshire or Worcestershire have any cricket either.

Swear these idiot administrators are trying to alienate supporters

I'm sure Warwickshire fixtures are designed to make attendance as difficult as possible.

No Villa Women, either. They would likely get a record attendance if they played this weekend but no... international break. 😠

Couldn't agree more.  I appreciate the weather is a lottery at the best of times but surely some one-day cricket would be an idea to fill in these large gaps?  The admin bods are obviously stupid.  No wonder the game is in such a mess, yet the poxy wank Hundred will get plenty of airtime.

The less cricket they play, the more we hear about too much cricket being played.

1987 had 24*3 day matches + 16 sunday league matches + between 5 and 12 b+h/nat west matches, so 93-100 days of cricket.

2022 has 10*4 day matches + 8 to 11 one day cup matches + 14 to 17 t20 blast matches, so 55-59.5 days of cricket (counting t20 as half days). Or for some 8-10 hundred games replacing most of the 8 to 11 one day cup matches to make the amount of playing time even lower.

MLB manages 162 regular season matches plus a post season of up to 20 games. Counting all of those games as half length it's broadly similar to the 1987 situation.

Yep, would have been ideal weekend for a four day game starting on Thursday.

T20 - they should be able to play Friday night / Saturday night & Sunday afternoon no problem-we don’t have reserve days & we don’t have many thousands of miles travelling.

Rumours that Mahmood of Lancashire, whose deal expires at the end of the summer, might be interested in joining the Bears.

I didn't know he was a Brummie.

What happened to Norwell? Can Miles bowl as a concussion sub as well? Can't remember seeing that very often before.

Good start to season with the bat for Pears….v happy  as the three you’d expect to fire in Libby, Azhar Ali & Haynes haven’t yet….Dolly doing great & Pollock doesn’t die wondering does he? Aggressive but certainly yesterday was cricket shots not slogging

Not so good for my team Essex. Seems every time Essex play the Bears they fall apart.

Burgess has started the season superbly and along with Lamb is doing a great job of hiding the fact that the top 4 haven't quite got going so far. If Yates and Rhodes can get back to their level from last season and Sibley can recover from the mess with England I can see this bears team putting down a few massive first innings totals this summer. Right now my biggest concern is how many of them England will end up looking at.
