103-7 off 27.5 overs. Now at Lunch. Some good Yorkshire bowling and some poor shot/leave selections by Warwickshire

Don't underestimate the toss at Headingley especially the earlier start in September.
A massive toss to lose. Had roles been reversed i daresay Woakes would have revelled.

103/7 obviously not good.

all done for 155 - very good knock from Burgess to get 66 and can't fault him for getting out how he did either. The rest of the batsmen have all let themselves down, the team is better than this but just seem to have completely lost their way with the bat.

However at headingley in september with overcast conditions like PGW I'd expect both teams to bowl on the first day and I reckon if you could be bothered to do the stats the average first innings here in spring and autumn matches is probably low 200s.

yorks 5-1 Hill gone for 4

Beauty from woakes to get the LBW. He's started really well.

Yorks now 27/3

Lyth went LBW to Norwell for 4 and Malan has just been caught off Woakes.

Ballance and Brook in and Bess is listed at 6 which feels really high.

Pears doing no better against Middlesex…2 day games incoming.

But the suits got the Hundred so what do they care about proper cricket?

Yorkshire 108 all out, Warwickshire lead by 47. Hope the batsmen can do better this innings

With the conditions up at Headingley i wouldn't count on it.
This 47 lead is crucial. I reckon 150/60 giving a lead of around 200 would be sufficient....fingers firmly crossed.

I'm with PGW, this looks like really hard work to score big on so a lead of 200+ would be huge.

The start from the bears was pretty cautious but we've opened up a bit the last couple of overs, I hope they keep going with that, this isn't a pitch to try to hang around on, just need to take the scoring chances when they come along, the only 2 meaningful scores were by players doing just that.

Hard work for the batsmen, very gloomy conditions, currently 27-3. A lead of 74

Yeah felt sorry for him, getting one like that first up on a pair is tough, best delivery of the morning by a long way.
