No i dont think Woakes has played for the bears at all.I thought with Giles being in charge of England and us having Farbrace we would have had Woakes for the Northants game ,had to be better than Norwell ,going for 53 in four overs takes some doing

It all points to Woakes not wanting to play for the Bears then doesn’t it?

I'd imagine it's just that pace bowlers get more protection than other players.

Agreed, I think that it's probably down to England having control over when players turn out for their counties. They'll be far more relaxed about batters doing so, than bowlers.

I don't think that Mark Wood has played any domestic cricket either.

From the others, Jimmy and Broad don't play white ball and Jofra/Sam Curran are in the IPL.

I don't think that England can stop players going to the IPL, but they can control domestic appearances.

I agree to a point but the next England international is months away, why prevent Woakes from playing in one match where he would have bowled a maximum of 24 balls? I could understand it if there was a tour starting in a few weeks but there’s not. So why didn’t he play?

Agree, what's the point of Woakes being a Bears player?

They were banking on crowds from 1st Oct.

If the ECB had known there was no chance of that, I think the games would have been played earlier or moved overseas

Shame really. Seeing as there are no crowds to compensate, I think maybe they could have Sunday as a reserve day, is that allowed?

Sunday is schedule as a reserve day, but the forecast suggests a washout of the whole weekend

Great start for The Shire in the QF against Northants, who are 7 down for only 80 runs after 15 overs
