Think is with Hourihane, is he played tonight in the position that either McGinn or Grealish will occupy to Saturday - so for him to come in on Saturday it would require a rethink from Smith, which I just can’t see happening.

If Smith was going to change formation it would have been tonight. Result aside, thats really worrying.

That's an interesting take on a 3-1 win.

Is "Why didn't Smith change the formation?" the new "Why didn't Barry take the penalty?"

Targett and Jots were pretty good. Trez and Hause not so much. McGinn then Jack stand outs obviously.

Jota always looks good in these games. Possible flat track bully?

5/2 was the price for Villa tonight before the teams were announced.

Gutted.

If we were to go to two defensive midfielders, then I would like to McGinn potentially playing in front of them and given somewhat of a free role with Grealish pushed further up.  I think that role would probably suit Hourihane as well, but a I only really see him as an impact sub at the moment.

From the brief highlights, Keinan looked full of intent. I'd like to see him up front with Wesley at some point as I think he'd create alot of goals for Wes. But what do I know.

Good win tonight.
