Good for him, it's just frustrating that he wasn't doing this in the first half of the season ready to come back and play a part.

This spell means he's now a £20-25m player that, if Boro owned him, would be getting linked to clubs like us.

I think that's the thing, if he WASN'T already ours, there would be plenty of premier league clubs trying to sign him this summer.  I think that's something like 13 goals he's got in the championship now, in about 30 appearances (and not all of those are starts).  Plus a good number of assists, too.  He could still reach double figures for boro this season (8 games to go, needs 4 more goals and is 1 in 2 for boro so far), and that would be a REALLY good scoring record.  He has already proven his worth to the boro fans.  Every team in the Championship would love to have him.

You've got to hope he gets a proper chance with us next season, and isn't treated as another opportunity to cash in and help the FFP numbers like Chuck Jnr.  Yes, it's great when we develop youth players and their sales help us bring in a world-class talent, but honestly, seeing the full range of finishes in his still very young career, it feels like this kid might turn out to be something special, and I'd be gutted if he ended up realising his full potential elsewhere.

I don’t think we had a choice with Chuck Jnr, but the point is still valid.  Archer’s loan, the second successful one, means we can confidently have him on the bench next season rather than an “Ings”. This effectively means we can put an extra £20m into signing Bailey’s replacement.

I'm still gutted that Pluto was downgraded as a proper planet in 2006.

Absolutely, I’ve been thinking this for a while. Sell-outs every week and a big increase in capacity coming soon. The women’s team. The loanees. The academy. The first team.

Lots of great things going on at the Villa.

Two great goals today. The previous talk of a large fee for him because of his form and goal scoring record puts me in mind of that Liverpool youngster who had a good scoring record on loan, I think at Bournemouth, and went to Sheff Utd for a big fee.
For the record I hope he gets a chance with us, if he continues like this he’ll certainly give Emery something to think about.

There's a lovely clip on Twitter, where he goes over to clap the Preston fans at the end and they sing his "Cameron Archer baby" song.  Sounds like the boro fans are singing it too.  It's Pretty rare you see a player bag two against their former team and then see their former fans singing their name at the end...

With the assist, you can see the Boro No 8 actually going to congratulate Archer rather then continue the run and celebrate with Akprom.

Weirdly the first chance he gets on those highlights is the easiest of the 3. Unlucky not to get a 2nd assist as well because Akpom should've done better with his 2nd chance.

Boro look very strong, I reckon they'll sneak into 2nd place.

the wife used the son's ticket twice now (keep it to yourself) and she likes it, even lets me have a drink at halftime

Akprom is a great striker but only plays for himself. You'd think at 27 he'd have learnt a thing or two about the collective. It's the only reason I wouldn't want him at Villa Park next season.
