Villa clearly want young players to get experience of adult football as early as they can. We've seen England win the various age group competitions and have a lot of talent that looks brilliant in those age groups but then just disappear in the latter stages of development. It's an interesting tactic to teach our kids the technical skills from 6/7 to 16/17, to start integrating them into the U18 team and then when they're 18/19 trying to get them to adjust to senior football while they're still relatively young, even if that means in the lower leagues. There are a few examples of players playing in the lower leagues but going on to become Premier League players (Vardy, even our own Watkins). Just a few months at Tranmere seemed to help Jacob Ramsey. It could be very beneficial long-term, maybe even being the difference between making it as a footballer or not.

My mistake but the point remains (seem to remember someone going out to Tranmere).

The Russian was there for a while before he became a Cypriot.

Moors scraped to a 1-0 Victory having had two men sent off. Aldershot were without Ross McCormack, not even on the subs bench-Injured or trapped behind some gates somewhere?
