He's a wonderful finisher.

I'd be really disappointed if we sold him.

Will be an interesting decision if/when Boro come up and have 100m + to play with.

Goal scorers are so rare we would be absolutely bonkers to even contemplate selling.
I want him integrated into the first team squad ASAP, fortunately we have an adult in charge of the team so I can see Emery doing exactly that, starting this summer.

My only concern is we seem to play a formation right now of one "proper" forward, and one more creative player in and around that forward.  If that's something we're going to continue to do, then I worry for Cam's chances with us, given it's likely Ollie, Duran and whoever comes in in the summer are ahead of him in the pecking order.  He looks like he COULD play that second striker role (seems to be doing it well enough next to Akpom), but you have to assume we're making at least one big centre forward signing in the summer, so that makes Cam 3rd/4th choice, at best.  Scraping into the European football places, even at the lowest level, would give us the number of games to keep players like him involved regularly.  As would a couple of decent cup runs.

He strikes the ball so cleanly and is really composed in front of goal, two exceptional qualities that mean the step up in quality against PL defenders will not be as difficult as would be the case if his primary attributes were different (pace, movement, etc.)

Really interesting to see how he is used for us next season and what that means for our recruitment. UTV

I was hoping Emery would use him more before we let him go to Boro but didn't happen.

Issue here is we will surely sign a couple of attackers in summer so with Ollie and Duran developing I think there's less room for Cam to develop than 12 months ago. Negligent what Gerrard did for those 3-4 months aswell.

Read a while back selling academy prospects for 20m + looks very good indeed on the FFP balance sheet so that's another thing to consider and Boro will certainly have that amount to afford him if/when they come up so that's something else to consider.

Look at the range of goals he's scored in last 18 months at every level he's played. That's something that can't be taught so he could be the next Kane for all we know so he needs to get a proper chance with us first in ideal world.

I think ultimately has been the best thing for him even if loaning him out and selling Ings carried massive risk in January. But if we know anything Emery has his team keeping a very keen eye on Cam, Ramsey and the others who are playing really well. Can they be incorporated into his system next season? I’d love to see them all make the squad (unlikely as some may be back on loan), and we add a few top players in addition.

If we make Europe, it would make sense to keep Archer and Ramsey. If we don't, I think meaningful game time is going to be difficult given who is in front of them.

If Archer continues his progress he should start playing as lead or support striker.
He has more potential than Watkins because he is a natural finisher which is a very rare thing right now.

I think the rareness is partly because not many mangers would select such players. Take Defoe, he was a first class finisher but I don’t he’d flourish in football today.  I reckon a striker needs at least one more string to their bow (target man, dropping deep, running the channels or providing an aggressive high press).

You’d think Archer, of all players, should have many strings to their bow.  Uh oh.

You must admit, though, he is one of those players who give you a quiver of excitement when you see their name on the team sheet.

I think his biggest asset is the confidence & ability to finish with both feet. But is he all-round game good enough for a side that wants to be top 6?

Without watching him play a dozen games or so in the Premier League it's hard to know. Maybe it's telling we've signed Duran, given him 10-15 mins here & there whilst letting Cameron go out on loan.

If Gibbs-White is worth £25m + £17m in add-ons then I'd say Archer is worth something similar & if we get anything approaching that we'll sell.
