A lot of these PL players I'm seeing for the first time.  That Andre Gomes was utter shite.

Gomes, Schneiderlin, Richarlison, Bernard, Sigurdsson, Walcott were all genuinely useless (£140m approx combined). Thought Iwobi looked to be carrying timber too. They have spent huge money on that squad in comparison to ours.

So many of their attacks ended with the ball flying 10 feet over the bar. They were decent in the build up but looked really wasteful.

I agree, they give it there best shot, Everton are a really good side in the Premiership, well done Villa.

Congratulations to Everton on being top of the league, as expertly predicted by all of the Everton forum.

Ooops!

It’s starting to knit together, I thought we were really up for this tonight and the difference between the Bournemouth game was the confidence that a goal gives.

Just me screaming to keep the ball in the corner at the end and then we scored our second?  ;D

Thank Christ for that, definitely deserved something for the way we've played in the 3 games so far.

Did you eat cheese before bed? I feel there maybe a sponsorship opportunity on the horizon.

Get in there! Impressed with Fred and Jota down the right, the CBs winning every aerial duel and of course Big Wes for the goal and hold up play. AEG good cameo even before his goal too.

Go and have look on the sha forum. Makes tonight even better.

I'll bet anything MolineuxMix has over 100 comments on our game. Sad twats the lot of them.

I couldn't resist a look, 126 comments so far about our game on, our own match thread had 212.

Everton were genuinely awful

Absolute nonsense, Everton might have missed chances but they showed they are a good side, but Villa outfought them. Give us some credit!!!!

This game reminded me of us beating Chelsea 2-0 in I think 2007 (Mourinho's last game in his first spell). We came out, played better than expected, got a deserved lead and then were comfortable without being comfortable if you get my thinking. Only really got worried in last 10 minutes when Everton really were missing good chances.

Haha, I made the same comparison earlier in the thread and thought that you would appreciate it!

He's always been wildly inconsistant. Saw him have many games like tonight for Valencia.....and then Barcelona signed him for 40m.

Digne I like a lot. Hopefully we can have as good an LB as him in a few years although Taylor was very solid again so credit to him for his start to the season.

Better atmosphere than the play off final, if that’s even possible. Fucking brilliant.
I watched on the TV and can’t recall a better atmosphere.

I'm sure there was moment with two different chants at once, never heard that before.
I'm sure I heard the old 'Villa' clap clap clap for the first time in years too

Just seen it Eamonn, honestly didn't see it before posting! It was very similar, 1-0 up and comfortable and then backs to wall for last ten before breakway goal seals the win against team in Blue.

Hopefully we can go back to beating likes of Everton on regular basis. One of the many bad aspects of Lambert's reign was we became cannon fodder for likes of them and Spurs.
