To be honest, Luiz's miss was every bit as bad as Engels' mistake.

It was a shocker, showed all of the control  of a one legged man at an arse kicking contest.

Two goals he was at fault with. As good as his play was otherwise, that's a poor game.

Indeed.  I said elsewhere, it's like saying Lorus Karius played well for Liverpool in the CL final before last apart from the two goals he gifted to Madrid.  One mistake you can accept, but he made two glaring errors that both led to goals.

Elphick would regularly have a generally decent game but drop a bollock to concede and he got pelters for it.

Not sure why Engels is defended so much, it's not the first time he's been at fault when we've conceded goals either - see Arsenal away, and wasn't it him looking like he was running through deep water trying to catch Vardy in the Leicester debacle?  Compare and contrast to some people vilifying Drinkwater, with one person even trying to blame him for both first half goals.

He made Shane Long look like Ben Johnson as well.

Yes Long that's the one I was thinking of, not Vardy.  And I don't think Long is noted for being especially quick either.

I actually felt sorry for Luiz.
Great contact, keeper just throws himself and gets lucky.
If only he’d taken a leaf out of Peter Withe’s book and shinned it

Agreed - the defneder got across very smartly too.
I'd suggest that Luiz looked slightly complacent about it, but he was thwarted by the defensive effort.

It was a shame he couldn’t have done what he did against Watford and smacked it in the roof of the net.

Our defence has been found wanting on a few occasions so far this season. Our goals conceded record is relegation form i'm afraid. Individual errors like.Engels for Spurs winner have blighted us all season long. When you watch Engels chasing a nippy striker you know it stands a good chance of ending badly. Somethings not right with his running style, a bit like Guilbert, it's as if he can't open up into a full stride. That lack of pace ultimately caused his mistimed tackle for the pen. Which brings me to mention Reinas save. Why wer'e the Spurs players onto the rebound like a flash while our players (with one exception, i think it was Engels) just stood and watched? I found that very odd. If they didn't get the hair dryer treatment for that at half time that then they damn well should have.

So doni. Keeper got lucky.i am more angry at trezuget for not putting luiz through and being greddy with that horrible attempt by him.

Rely dont rate trez. Think he is a pretty average player and makes so many poor decisons in games.

When i saw the way that dutch player spurs had used his pace to cause us problems compared to trez who is quick as him shows you the level of the players.

Trez is woeful and i would get rid of him in the summer.

Reasons might include him being our player, relatively young, in his first season in the league, and still on less money than the 1/2 salary we are paying Drinky.

He had plenty of time, he could have taken a touch, he smacked it at the Centre of the goal. Awful effort and a massive miss in the context of the game, Nil points.

It's not though is it?  He should have scored if he'd composed himself better but he did hit the target. Engels had time to either control the ball differently, trap the ball correctly like he attempted or put his foot right through it and land it near the Spurs area with snow on it (my preferred choice).

I'd put Trezeguets greed higher up the list of reasons to boil my piss than Luiz's miss, was never gonna get a shot on target, the tube.

Luiz aimed for the wrong half of the goal.
