Literally done, £23.6 mill.

Is this official, with agreements in place for the other players?
Fabrizio just posted it and reposted it with a "here we go" so yeah, its all tied up, doubloons and curds.

Luiz was neither here nor there til Emery arrived and last few months reverted to poor. I suspect he will continue treading water once he leaves and go backwards.
Dougie was integral to us staying up after lockdown. He treaded water under stevie g, but so did everyone. Virtually all the players have excelled under Emery.
For me up till Kamara got injured he was the best midfielder in the country.
He’s going, he’s given us five years, I wish him well and move on with a bit of sadness, but lets not make out he’s not that good.

Indeed, but Tim has a tendency to get an idea in his head at times and irrespective of whether it’s wrong he just ploughs ahead. Doug was an integral part of our progress in the past 5 years, and for a good chunk of the last 18 months he’s been sensational. He goes with my best wishes, I’ll miss him playing for us and he is a big loss. Hopefully we’ll cover his odd adequately, and I hope he returns one day.

You’ve hit the nail on the head there Rambo.  One of the classiest players I’ve seen at Villa.  We will struggle to replace him in one player but if the squad has more depth then it might work out.  And he’s seemingly got us out of an accountancy hole.

Weird, I usually feel pissed off and angry at this point but strangely calm with Luiz.

Romano's better than most Italian media where Juve are concerned, he's not just a cheerleader.

He's saying €28m cash plus Enzo Barrenechea and Iling Jr which is £49m if you value the two players at €15m each which apparently is generous.

[Romano] Douglas Luiz to Juventus, Iling Jr and Enzo Barrenechea to Aston Villa — here we go! Verbal agreement reached between Juve and Villa for the swap deal. Douglas Luiz to Juve. Samuel Iling Jr to Villa. Enzo Barrenechea to Villa. €28m fee to #AVFC.

Very good player no doubt. He wasn't the best midfielder in the country though. Emery has allowed him to leave. That says enough for me. I think we will improve in this area and start moving the ball quicker through the middle - which is badly needed as we progress to top 3 and ECL football.

(plus if he was the best midfielder in the country he wouldn't be moving to Juventus).

I think those 2 players will go down on the books for more than 15 million euros. Heard Kieran Maguire talk about player swaps/ inclusions and with "clever accounting" increasing their values on the accounts.

I think both will go down as more if Kellyman is £19 million. I could see minimum £20 million each and why not.

I would certainly expect some creativity. It's a shit we've had to sell Dougie but both the new lads have great potential.

I don’t think 15m euros is generous.  Recent England U21 players have traded for way more and often without the juve and CL experience. Similarly  Barrenechea playing a whole season in Serie A.

15m euro feels an underestimate to me.

Good luck, Dougie!

Can't say that he was a player i particularly wanted to go. I can only assume it's us trying to navigate our way around FFP.

It's a gamble on our part. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush and all that. I'm optimistic about the two lads coming in - Iling-Junior especially. Fingers crossed we end up on the better side of this deal.
