£50m is a joke of a valuation for Luiz.  I think prices will come down this summer and there's only a small handful of clubs who can pay the big fees, but even so £50m is an insult.

Surely if we do not get a price match for what we think he is worth he goes nowhere?

I doubt the player will throw his toys out as he has already declared his love for how we gave him the chance

Unless the contract that he unexpectedly signed under Gerrard has a release clause in it. And as has been said, given the power he had at the time it would have been weird if he didn't ask for one.

We could just start a bidding war.

As much as i would like Gallagher if i had to take one of theirs it would be a fully fit Reece James.

Would teach Chelsea a lesson if no one bought any of their players - but i doubt the FA would have the minerals to actually punish them under FFP or whatever.

They’re fine aren’t they? They sold the hotels.

You need multiple bidders for that.

I'll offer £60m

When you see figures like this mentioned for Dougie it just makes you realise how little the media actually pay attention to us, even in a season where we qualified for the Champions League.  If Luiz was really available for £50 million then there would be an absolute frenzy of clubs after him - the idea that he only worth that amount simply comes from the imagination of whoever is writing that story, the kind of person whose team of the season would still contain 3 Chelsea players even if they were relegated.

Exactly Pat.  Well, them and the spotty teenagers writing for 'Football Insider' in between playing Destiny and watching Margot Robbie's best scenes on loop.

If we had a completely fit team from scratch then i would be more than happy to go with what we have so anyone thinking they can pinch our players can go fuck themselves.

A fully fit Mings, Rogers, Ramsay and Buendia are fabulous additions to our squad.

We are not a push over anymore - we call the shots

50m short of Dougie value but when you read the speculation nonsense you have to remember it is tailored by a London centric media to excite fans of ‘their’ clubs….meanwhile the adults who run the clubs will be discussing and making any agreements etc.

It’s the same theory as ‘must sell by end of June’ - click bait BS that is never backed up by facts or quotes

£50M is still a lot of money .

Not when players of a similar level to him went for £100m last summer.

He’s worth far more than that to us. To replace a player of his quality would cost us far more so I can’t see us selling for as little as this.
