I don’t want us to have to sell any of our best players for PSR reasons this summer, but if we do, I think Dougie would be the one I’d sell. And that’s not a reaction to today’s game, I haven’t seen it.

If Arsenal offered us 90m I’d take it.

I think there are several players across Europe who we could bring in who would replace him, for cheaper.  He's been great this season but is replaceable.

We would be nowhere near where we are without him.

This is definitely true, but no-one should be undroppable. His ceiling is higher than anyone's, but that's no good if he's in the basement.

No I agree, but people are jumping to the conclusion he’s replaceable (potentially easily). I don’t think he is. I think he’s an exceptional talent and he’s being asked to cover the Kamara role, which isn’t really his game.

He's been in second gear since Christmas. I think he's off or at least he thinks he is.

That's fair, I agree, I think long term we would miss him.

He looked like he was playing in 3rd gear tonight, which isn’t anywhere near enough.

He's going to have a bad game now and again. That said, we didn't seem to miss him that much when he was out.

Well no, but again he’s not Kamara and he’s being asked to play that role. Clearly we know why, but he’s massively less effective in that role. His obvious frustration is clear evidence he was trying but it wasn’t working.

But if he’s not good at the Kamara role and we’ve already got McGinn and tielemans for more forward roles then maybe that’s further proof he’s the one who might be sacrificed. Not saying he’s a bad player, just what the club needs

I’d just be very wary of recency bias on this stuff. He has been outstanding for most of this season, if we lose him it would be a colossal hole to fill.

But then again, how colossal would that hole be compared to the one that would be created were we to sell Watkins or Martinez?

He was a Rolls Royce midfielder until he got back together with Alisha. I miss that player.

Yes, you're always less of a player when you're in a steady relationship.
