I don't think we need worry about Man City coming back for him, at least not on this form.

Worth bearing in mind he was born in 1998. He's 22 and a youngster still.

No chance. He had a decent start but he's really tapered off. He'll come again but I'm not sure he'll end up a top defensive midfielder.

Man City will only spend big money on known quantities, not gambles on players who may or may not be able to play regularly for them.

Good, as he's a quality player and I want us to keep him for years and years.

He can be and the more players we're able to keep and build on, the better. I just don't like seeing players still being guaranteed starters even when they're not in form. Until we've built some depth though, that's where we are.

Was excellent up until the enforced COVID break, but has been way off the pace since.

Me too. He’s going to be a fantastic player. He’s going through a rough patch, but he’ll come through it. I hope he’s with us for years.

He could really do with someone next to him.  McGinn today was constantly pressing alongside Barkley (as in geographically, Barkley wasn’t doing much pressing) meaning that Luiz was the sole CM behind the ball.

I think we should change the shape a bit and have three 8s. Barkley playing off the striker just leaves too much for the other two midfielders to do, compounded by the fact our fullbacks are quite attacking.

think Luiz needs more than just McGinn in there with him. a midfield 3 may suit them both more

What has happened this guy? It's like his twin brother is playing for us lately.

He played in a more advanced position last season. Scored some screamers in a team that conceded an absolute hatful. After the Covid break he was moved to a more defensive position. While he’s not going to be the more flamboyant version he is playing a very unsung role. He’s was a big reason as to why we stayed up and also why we have made such incredible strides defensively as a club. A lot of his work goes very unnoticed in his positioning and he provides very good cover for the back four. Admittedly he’s probably had a bit of a dip in form as the whole team has but I think he generally gets unjustly criticized because of how good he had look playing a different role in the past.
