Great performance again. Gritty, calm, precise.

His form, imho, has been as big a factor in these post covid games as grealish coming back was last season.

He has come on so much it's incredible.  It would be great news if we can keep him as he is the DM we've needed all season.

Love how he never gets flustered either. Seems to have adapted well post lockdown. Always seems to have time on the ball to pick the right pass too - Sign of a good player, and long may he remain one of ours!

And what a contrast to the universal consternation* at his being not up to speed and spending too long on the ball he then typically lost.
Long may we hold onto our best.

*not sure i've ever typed that word before.
A quick google to check the meaning "a sudden, alarming amazement or dread that results in utter confusion; dismay." sounds very H&V on a bad day!

Players with bleached hair, in my experience, are either very good or very bad.  He is firmly in the former category.

I love Douglas he’s fucking brilliant.

I'd love to see him remain and be a fixture in the midfield for club and country for years to come.

Might help our cause should we be looking at more Brazilians in future.

BTW: Always felt it odd that so few of them play in English football traditionally.  I've heard the weather and culture etc cited as factors.  And compared to possible moves to Portugal or Spain I get that.  But plenty play in the Netherlands, Germany and Russia and and don't seem to have too many issues settling in.

He’s been excellent hasn’t he. Let’s hope we can get to make him a fans hero next season.

(Villa, can you please make some no strings attached signings for next season please)

I would imagine he will be looking to sign for a Champions League team next season.

Work permits. Other countries have far fewer restrictions on footballers having the right to go there and play than the UK does.

The main reason he's with us in the first place.

Makes sense.

Don't a few of them get round that with Italian or Portuguese passports though.

That's a bit different. Other leagues have limits on the total number of non-EU players that are allowed in a squad. So if you are a promising footballer in South America you get yourself a passport to make yourself a more attractive transfer option as you wouldn't be taking up a non-EU place.

Obviously it wouldn't hurt with a potential move to England later, but it's more to help Argentines / Brazilians etc get a move to Italy or Portugal as teams are more likely to take a punt on them.

TBF they have got that from another awful click bait article. If he were to go to Arsenal he’d need to go to Man City first due to the clause.

This needs to be bumped. Douglas Luiz was a fucking Rolls Royce since the restart. Absolutely superb and contributed fully to us staying up.
